Day 01: Yangon Arrival

Upon arrival in Myanmar, our guide will welcome you for your hotel transfer.

The first visit of the day will be the busy streets of downtown Yangon where you are to explore the outstanding landmarks of Sule Pagoda, British colonial buildings and China town.

Day 02: Yangon Sightseeing

After breakfast, we visit one of Yangon`s busy markets and head to Chaukhtat Kyi,  a colossal reclining Buddha with a great history.  After that, taking a walk in Kandawgyi Nature Park , a scenic park with a lovely view of the famous Kandawgyi Lake and Karaweik Royal Barge.

The highlight of this day is the exploration of stunning Shwedagon Pagoda which is over 2500 years old, and a world  class stupa in the dome shape rising 98 meters above its base and covered with 60 tons of pure gold.

Day 03: Yangon – Bago – Kyaiktiyo

The destination of this day will be the miracle pagoda named Golden Rock Pagoda which enshrines a hair relic of Buddha. It is set on top of a gold-gilded boulder which itself is perfectly balanced on the edge of a cliff.

Spend full day travelling from Yangon to Kyaikhtiyo mountain which is over 1100m above sea level. There are many legends about the pagoda and Nats (spirit gods) shrines along the 11 km uphill. The car stops by Kinpun base camp and you will be transferred by an open truck to reach the peak of this mountain. Our guide will introduce you the most outstanding features of the pagoda as well the area.

Day 04: Kyaiktiyo – Thaton – Hpa An

Another car journey will take you to Thaton, the ancient capital of the Mon kingdom of Thaton which ancient texts referred to as the “Golden Land”. Upon arrival, we will have chances to oberve the Shwe Zayan Paya where is housed the famous 10th-century standing Buddha sculpted in the classic Mon style. Continue your visit to some famous hitorical places in Thaton before heading the capital of Kayin State.

The landscape of Hpa-an boasts cave-dwelling art galleries, sacred mountains, the gates of hell and cloud-scraping islands. Visit surreal Kyauk Kalap Pagoda standing proud in the middle of a man-made lake; Kaw Gun Cave – the natural limestone cave with carvings of many Buddha images.

Day 05 : Hpa An – Mawlamyine

Early this morning, drive to Hpan An jetty for the ferry to Mawlamyine.

Start your sightseeing with the impressive Kyaikmaraw Pagoda built by Queen Shin Saw Pu in 1455. The faces of the Buddhas are white and serene. The main huge Buddha statue does not sit cross-legged in the usual pose but seems to be sitting on a chair. A side room has images depicting the Buddha in various stages of illness and death emphasizing his physical mortality.

Another attraction of this day is  Kyaikkami (Amherst) Beach. The main attraction is Yele Paya, a complex of shrines perched over the sea and reached by a two-level causeway. At high tide the lower level is submerged in the sea and the upper level is used. On the way visit the 560ft-long biggest Reclining Buddha image in Win Sein Meditation Centre. Then drive to Setse Beach lined with waving casuarinas trees. Back to Mawlamyine.

Day 06 : Mawlamyine – Bilu Kyun – Nwa La Bo

After breakfast, our driver will take you to Bilun Kun for another boat trip to visit a cluster of Mon settlements in a big island producing hand-made utensils from coconut fronds, coconut palms, coconut shells. Spend an interesting few hours moving among the villages linked by dirt tracks. By 3pm we have to be at Nut-Maw village to catch the last ferry back to Mawlamyine. If time allows (by leaving the island earlier for example), visit Nwa La Bo pagoda where you can see three sausage-shaped gold boulders precariously stacked one on another with a shrine on the top boulder in like manner of the Kyaikthiyo Golden Rock you have visited.

Day 07 : Mawlamyine – Yangon by car

Enjoy a scenic road transfer from Mawlamyine back to Yangon or airport
